Server Downtime
« on: December 26, 2010, 12:54:05 PM »
Hello all, I would like to say I am bringing the servers down from 1:00 PM PST to 5:00 PM PST today on 12/26/2010.

This downtime will be bringing a more optimized and stable setup as it seems the servers like to crap out 20x as frequently. The servers will be up hopefully with a rock solid feeling. :)

Edit:
What needs to be done:
1) Move server files and data to backup site [1 hr]
2) OS reload to Linux [1/2 hr - 1 1/2 hr]
3) Setup MySQL Server, import data, setup user permissions [30 minutes]
4) Compile new optimized kernel [30 minutes]
5) Pray everything works.

ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I'm sure about 99.995 percent of us are patient enough to wait, so no worries. thanks for the heads up :D
I'm going to get up in a minute and walk out of here. That guy in corner behind me, will follow. You follow him. I will follow you. Remember! I've trained for this kind of follow-thing my whole life. So don't fuck it up!!

ok. but i got a question was i the only one that it took almost like a second retry to get into the server?
it seemed like it would take like 5 seconds to actually even try to connect

Had to bump server downtime up one hour since the secondary drive needed to be manually removed before OS reload.

Thank you WhyPie for posting so I don't need to double post, haha.

Looks like SK, BHOP, ZH2 and GG are up. The MG and ZH server will be up shortly after they download some missing files. The store plugin will be fixed on the ZH servers asap.

Here are a few glitches I have found since the update. If anybody notices any problems since he updated please post it.

1) Random spawning in ZH isn't working well again. They are spawning in the skybox again, and inside of people.

2) When you put any of the tracer types on the default color it only shows up as solid black on all servers

3) If you set your glow color to default it makes your player model go invisible in all servers.

4) Store doesn't work in Gungame.

5) Tracer types don't work in Scoutsknives, or in Bhop. They show up as pink/black checkered boards.

6) SK, and Bhop both cause CSS crashes when joining. Also causes models/tracers to not show up right if you join another server from either one of them. For example if you go from SK/Bhop to ZombieHell you will start to download all the models again for no reason. Then when you get into the server everything is error signs until you restart CSS.

1) The zombiehell spawning should be fixed.
2) Should also work now :)
3) Fixed.
4) Should work now, hopefully it will.
6) Inever knew what caused this, but restarting CSS fixes the download problem.

Not sure if it was just me, but after playing this morning, the default color for my tracers still make it black.
