There is a lot of talk going around talking about the classes for the zombie server. Well i have though of a few ideas and wanted to post them here. (Ninja class) - it has increases knife damage and low gravity allowing it to jump around knifing the zombies. Is Knife Only. (demolition) - kinda like the really old support class, it spawns nades with either napalm (suggestion) or jsut extra damage. (Preist) - can revive one person per day/round. (Cowboy) - Can only use deagle with increased damage. (Spy) - Can only use usp. but has the ability to go compeltely invisible for a certain amount of time if his health runs to low. (suicide bomber) - when he presses his "use" key he explodes and kills nearby zombies. One time use per round. (Gangster) - uses the glock only and turns the burst fire fully auto. This class would onyl be effective if the glock had more ammo per clip. (Vampire) - Has the ability to leech some of the zombies health. It cannot excceed over 100 and the ammount is 0.1% dmg. (Tank) - Has increased health (250) but if his health falls below 100 the medics can only heal him back to 100. His speed should be slightly decreased. (Acrobat) - has a percent chance to evade a zombies blow. (Admin/donator) - I think the admins/donators should have a class that only thoes with admin/donator can access wich includes, Increased speed, Healing abilitys , and increased health.
I hope you will consider these ideas as i think they would make the server more fun. And more personal.

those classes seem too "rpg" to me. it just seems unrealistic (and that's saying a lot regarding zombies) and would probably end up killing the fun of the game for some people.

like Sheep said, these are WAY too RPG style. not to mention, Ninja has been asked for a bunch of times. also, the Cowboy and Spy classes restricting a player to ONLY using one weapon would cause a problem amongst players and would be avoided. Suicide Bomber would never be used for obvious reasons. Gangster, once again, would be a problem due to weapon restrictions. Vampire...okay, seriously? we got medics, so why this? Tank, kind of meh because of the speed decrease, all it would really do is cause a person to be slower than the normal player and die quicker to the zombies. Acrobat, once again, meh. Admin/Donater would be more like a favoritism class, and would cause a lot of player grieving.

you also need to consider what might happen to the balance of the gameplay if these classes were included.

If you play in a server with a warcraft mod there are races which restrict your wepons. This is a very possible class and if you dont like to use that weapon dont be that class. And so what if they are too like RPG anyways? The perpose of classes are for having fun. Also saying you wouldent use a certain class is your personal opinion it dosent reflect the opinions of the players. Terrorist class could be used when your about to loose and want to go out with a bang... Or bored and want to be funny and rush the zombies in a suicide mission. I know alot of people that have gotten bored and want to rush the zombies with their knives its the same principles... Also you guys are basing these classes off of the fact that they are a package deal.... Their just suggestions you may accept one but not another you dont have to group them all together as one deal....

apparently you didn't see the last line of the post I made
you also need to consider what might happen to the balance of the gameplay if these classes were included.

if the game is too unbalanced, it won't work properly. and most of the classes you suggested would completely unbalance the game. ZH is a team-based style of gameplay on the server, and if you don't work together, you WILL lose about 95% of the time. the classes you suggested would unbalance the gameplay, and it would be chaotic.

Well, I will say this. At the moment I'll probably not be changing the ZH classes besides adding upgrades. Things seem pretty smooth at the moment and I don't really want to break anything.

A few more classes would be nice but yes it'd take some time to think of how they would go without unbalancing, hence here's 2 suggestions: make the classes and try them out, if seem cool nerf them to work so they don't unbalance and they work for the server. Or you could just apply upgrades to the classes like Local said, but what i'm finding is that their too basic, not much too 'em meaning you may as well just have medic and support, assault gives a 'lil extra speed, but then again the zombies are slower half the time, than a player, sniper class is just a basic, "here's a sniper". So ya, upgrade or add....

P.S. the awp and scout for sniper class are pretty damn useless seeing as they take 2-3 shots to kill a zombie. It seems the only snipers that would be wise to use are the auto snipers.

the classes aren't the point of the server. They're just a nifty little add on. If you focus on the classes you lose the whole purpose of the server and it just turns into a battle of who's class can kill more zombies instead of working as a team

I know we have a pretty good amount of classes and i know that but i think a demo class would be quite fun dont you think? leik they spawn with a good amount of nades and have like 5 trip wires from hl2 sorry if this is reviving a dead post but to my knowledge dead posts are a month without a single post

not sure if you were here when Local did the first major upgrade to the classes, but he tried making the classes be more useful by spawning items that would help. and, although it was a big hit, it was a failure in the end because there was a problem spawning entities, and making it so that the demo class existed and had tripwire mines would only cause that issue to happen again unless Local could somehow fix that.

currently, there is no need for any more classes, just like Mominator said.
