No more second chances?
« on: September 13, 2010, 08:44:02 PM »
Well fellow community, I have dwelled on this for a little bit and decided you guys should be able to vote what happens.

Since the last update, VALVe has allowed us to protect ourselves from 99.9% of those who script. The other 0.01% are using signature scanning hacks and would be VAC banned anyways. This would also however on the other hand, block access to all VAC banned players "or previous cheaters".

The decision is up to all of you.

Vote will end on 9/20/10.

i like this idea. Let me give u my list of pros and cons

Pros
1. Less hacking/scripting
2. Less Likely to have later night problems
3. Less QQ

Cons
1. Going against our whole second chance policy
2. No one will really beable to beat bhop maps
3. Serenity can no longer hack

Just some things i can think off the top of my head. But all in all i think the good out weighs the bad and this should totally happen

That is because you had a LSS client installed and KAC registered openscript_var on your clienside convars. The server is a second chance in the sense that if you are VAC banned you can play here till you cheat.

I have yet to meet someone who has hacked once, and called it a day..

Once they cheat, it's always going to be in the back of their mind that it's a possibility.

1. Going against our whole second chance policy
3. Serenity can no longer hack

I think for this reason alone it is a good idea! >:D /sarcasm
I do agree it would be good so that there are less late-night problems, though I don't think I've seen anyone hacking yet as far as I know.

I do think it would be bad because like Serenity said, it goes against that second-chance policy.  Sometimes people do have their sound off or something, so I do believe in second chances, but not thirds.  And I agree with named, once a hacker/cheater always a hacker/cheater. :/

...99.9% of those who script. The other 0.01%...

100% - 99.9% - 0.01% = 0.09%

So what accounts for the last 0.09%  :P

Well he is talking about second chances like he said in his post, not people we have banned ourselves. ;D :D
The server is a second chance in the sense that if you are VAC banned you can play here till you cheat.

I personally think it should be turned on, because the non cheating players shouldn't have to deal with hackers, and nonsense just so some people who got caught cheating can have a second chance. If a cheater is VAC banned and wants a second chance, he can buy a new account. I don't feel sorry for people who were VAC banned because it is their own fault.

Alright, edited poll to allow revotes.

100% - 99.9% - 0.01% = 0.09%

So what accounts for the last 0.09%  :P

....The other 0.01% are using signature scanning hacks and would be VAC banned anyways....

I agree with death, It's just giving people a second chance at hacking..
I have a dream: a dream that, one day, chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
