Nobody give me a hard time please, but I feel like maybe, there is definately the possibility that the government has a few environmental ulterior motives and that they are not doing everything that they could to  fix the crisis so that they can use it to their advantage in the future.

well...right after katrina happened...a huge chunk of the land was bought dirt cheap and planned to be converted into casinos and hotels (which is a well known method of laundering money)...its possible they're thinkin...hey all this oil on the coast will drop property values so low we can buy it ALL up...and put new oil rigs everywhere...or just whatever

no, i think that by making it seem dangerous they make it look like they need to heavily regulate it. And that means more tax/ more money for them/ more control of the american people and the economy. The deep water horizon rig that blew up is like 3300 something miles from the US coastline, anything past 20 miles is considered international waters, so who the fuck does our government think it is

When an incident in international waters involves the property or lives of a country they are allowed to intervene how they see fit.
