intel or amd?

Water cooling is a no no.
1) Still requires a fan so it's not quiet
2) Can leak and cause water damage (irreparable)
3) Hard to maintain

AMD is not better than Intel.
Intel is far more superior.

But do note that Intel can be a little pricey.
AMD: $200 versus Intel $300 (Comparing quad core 2.6Ghz, etc...)

Intel is cheaper? May I have what you're smoking sir. Amd is great quality for far less(six core amd $200-$300 vs six core intel $1000+). Top of the line intel out performs yes, but you're also buying a processor for the price of an entire system.

Sorry, I corrected myself, and Intel is not $1000+.
Your comparing a cheap AMD to a high-end Intel, your not helping.
Read my edit above and you'll find a good comparison.

When you want to start going Dual Core 3.0Ghz+ with Intel, that's when the price range jumps up an extra $300

Those links are years old. And I was comparing them based on the latest technology of each. And as for cheap amd that's the most expensive amd currently out.

Well I hope your not comparing i7 to AMD because AMD hasn't even made a matching product for that yet. i7 was just released, c'mon dude...

That's like comparing an Glock to a Deagle... Yes the Glock is cheaper and can 1-hit kill, but it's no comparison to a Deagle..

the only thing id even consider atm is an i5 maybe an i7 920

TOO bad they each use different motherboard sockets which alone are MUCH more expensive then the amd counterparts

yes i love intel and i love amd

amd is the better choice for low budget builds that want bad ass performance

intel is a great choice for anyone .....who wants to try and do something on the same processor ten years into the future which by that time the lowest line intel / amd chip will destroy the i7

i say fuck em all and get the 100core processor when its released form tilera

seriously, AMD is meant for the price vs performance. if you want a wicked gaming machine go AMd and use all the money saved to buy a better graphics card. if you have the money then go intel nuff said.
